My first trip to Egypt. I did have a great time. It had been a very long time since i last had a vacation, but now things were getting cheaper i decided to splash out.

I originally wanted to go to Cairo; however I recently read another blog post on a holiday to Luxor. I had heard so much about this place that I just had to go and see it for myself. Luxor itself is an ancient city and used to be the city of Thebes. This is the place where there are some amazing ruins and so when you arrive you have everything you want to see at your fingertips. So I arrived there and I was staying in my hotel the Steigenberger Nile Palace Hotel, a fantastic 5 star hotel with a stunning architecture and great room service, which kept me very happy. Egypt holidays were looking good already.

However I wasn’t there for the room service, I wanted to do touristy things, so I headed out on a tour to the Valley of the Kings. This is a massive burial ground for the powerful kings and nobles whom had died in the BC centuries. It started to get dark and i was looking at one of the tombs, as i looked around my group had left, i thought i saw them so i caught up. I realised then i was in a completely different group. This wasn’t good. So I was on my way to tell the guide I was lost when all of a sudden this thing in white rags touched me on the shoulder, I recoiled in fear and I may have screamed a little bit like what I could only describe as a little girl.

It turned out I had stumbled into a private scare tour. They were in the area because they were going to two weddings abroad. I decided I would enjoy this luxury holidays thing back at the hotel, the room service sounded like a good idea at that point.

If you have ever considered a safari holiday then you might want to know where the best places in the world to go are. Well Africa has always been the best place in the world where you can go on safari, so here are some of the best resorts.

In Kenya there is the Porini Wilderness Safari. The advantage with this place is that you book it as a Safari bundle. There are actually three economically friendly bush camps that you will be staying in while on your safari quest. All of these camps have been built to have as little effect on the environment as possible. The guides are world renowned for being experienced and great tours; they are all accompanied with a 4X4 wheel Jeep.

This one is for those that want to see some of the most dangerous animals in the world. The Maasai Mara Big Cat Safari, this is in the Maasai Mara reserve in Kenya and offers some of the most amazing animals in the world. If you want to see a Lion, then this is the place to be, this is where they are most plentiful in one area, but you have to keep your wits about you. You get escorted around in some large open door 4X4 jeeps, this make for a thrilling ride and experience!  Kenya Safari holidays have become th most popular in the world.

Next is a truly majestic safari, the Zambia Classic Safari. What’s also great here is that this safari crosses through several parks two of which are the Zambezi and Livingstone Park. There are two main stunning features on this safari. The one that everybody considers a great creature is the Elephant, they are massive and powerful, yet very majestic. The biggest and most amazing of all of these features is this one, the Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Diving holidays have been very popular here for the falls have a hidden secret called the Devil’s Armchair.

So what is the difference between a Zoo and a Safari!

So what is the point in travelling all that way to Africa, when all you need to do is take a drive down the road? The animals in the zoo will behave very differently to those in the wild, so you don’t really get the real thing. Well the best way to decide on one of the two is to weigh up the pros and cons of the two.

We’ll start with the Zoo. Right off the bat, it is much, much cheaper. These animals are great, and the zoo gives everybody the chance to meet them, although they are behind bars or a sheet of glass. The chance to see these animals is rare, but a zoo offers this chance to everybody, in some cases you can actually interact with these animals (probably not the dangerous ones). It isn’t exactly that far to travel either is it. Well at least the zoo is only a short drive away, a Safari could be a 10 hour flight. The fact that these animals are at your fingertips also offers an exciting, enjoyable and educational experience for everyone, taking your children couldn’t be easier.

So now let’s take a look at the Safari. Well, this is where it gets difficult for some people to understand how amazing these holidays are. This is a holiday that you only really need to go on once, but after you have been, you will want to go back again. The chance to spend a couple of weeks in Africa in the world should be snapped up by any body. Hearing the roar of a lion may be intimidating in the wild, but is truly exciting as well. Safari’s may be expensive, but you will be glad you invested in one, however it probably isn’t a good idea to take the whole family. You will hear astonishing stories that your guide will tell you about and some of them are considered luxury holidays.

Think carefully when you go to the zoo the next time, the more you see these animals in captivity the more you will want to see them in the wild, you never know you might end up wanting a Kenya safari!

Sea life centres may be cheaper, but a Diving holiday is better!

Since the day that we could contain animals in these water tanks we have been going to see them. However slowly diving holidays have become even more popular than ever.

So why would you go to a sea life centre? What is so special about these places, well they give us the chance to see some truly amazing marine animals. For some people it is just easier to go into your city and head to the nearest sea life center. It is much cheaper to go to the sea life centre. The whole point is, that those that haven’t really thought about going on a diving holiday, you should reconsider.

There is a common misconception that these diving holidays are extremely expensive and only for those that can afford to embark on these luxury holidays. However these holidays are now really quite cheap. If you are actually there it is a clear and present way to demonstrate to people what these marine species are like in the wild. The massive advantage is your on holiday; they are usually beach holidays as well. So there is plenty of sun and sand, a few drinks and a dive in the ocean, preferably before drinks.

So although you can go straight to the sea life centre without travelling that far, do you really get that much of an experience out of it. These diving holidays do really give people the opportunity to experience something that a lot of others won’t do and not to mention you will probably have the most amazing time of your life. If you want to spice things up a little more then you can go shark diving, obviously for the more adventurous of the lot of you though, but these holidays are becoming extremely popular.

Go on holiday instead of getting your wages, sound like a good idea??

Some businesses come up with ideas of saving on spending wages, but what about sending staff on a years holiday, without wages?

Well BT have come out and said that this is what they are going to be offering their employees. The staff are being told they can even take a 25% lump sum of their annual pay and take the whole year off, staying at home or getting a holiday off their own back. Another option that is really being pushed forward is to ask some employees to take a one thousand pound lump sum and then go part time for the rest of the year.

So what’s spurred this on? Well basically BT has announced they have made over a whopping 1 billion pounds loss in the first three months of this tax year. So their plan is to reduce the wages to all of their one hundred thousand staff, this way they can save a large sum of spending fees.

So looking at this in a positive light, what do the employees get out of this? Taking the time to be with the family will be nice, especially if the spouse is working, you will still have some income. The other thing that they do mention, is that nobody will be pushed or forced into taking these options. This also means that some can embark on some very long trips or soul searching holidays. Relaxing St Lucia holidays or Egypt Holidays.

However there are problems with this as well, people wont be able to afford to go on any of these holidays. It may be easy for some people to carry on the year with only a small amount of cash but those with families may struggle. So is BT on the right track here? Personally I believe that BT needs to find other ways of sorting out the business instead of letting its employees take the fall.

However if you are one of the lucky ones who can still afford Caribbean holidays, then you may as well enjoy the break.

Have you been wondering which holiday you think you should be embarking on this year? People have been expressing where they have had there best holidays and then returning to the same place each year, that’s why these three holidays are the best.

Barbados holidays have always been locations where you can chill out and relax, not to mention enjoy a few good beers and rum’s. For holidays to Barbados you used to be looking at prices of nearly or over one thousand pound. This is great for all kinds of different tourist events, things like a submarine trip with a glass bottom and drinking at a pirates bar. This is a great place to enjoy a few nights out and then relax in the morning by the pool or the sea.

Barcelona holidays are in great demand as well. In the north east of Spain, this party capital attracts all ages from all around the world. Without a doubt you can just enjoy the party life and the beach and have a great holiday. Getting sun-burn and the tan that you want will be easy to achieve here. Of course there are some sights to see, such as architectural work by Antonio Gaudi scattered all over the city. However it is of course designed for those that like to have a few drinks.

St Lucia holidays are the holidays for lovers. It would be an understatement to say this this island was one of the most stunning in the world. You can find yourself falling more and more in love with your partner when you’re on this island, and after all it is also the place to have weddings abroad. You can enjoy the pleasant white sandy beaches and the clear blue seas. The diving is notriously romantic and the ocean is very clear. I wouldn’t really describe this as a family holiday, it is more for the couple.

Celebrities and the Airlines all want to go to the Caribbean, but can we go?

The Caribbean has been the holiday centre of attention over the past couple of years. You will also find that it has become the newspapers much loved area to write articles about as well, but why is this?

There has always been fascination with celebrities, where they go and what they do on their holidays. The Caribbean looks to have become the meeting place for celebrities these days. Wayne and Coleen Rooney are the two most recent to be spotted on their Barbados holidays. When you look at the papers it becomes apparent that the celebrities choose these sunny holidays, probably for some extra coverage.

It is almost like some of the celebrities are taunting us, we don’t all have the ability to go to the Caribbean and sometimes flights are too infrequent to fit in with our holiday schedules, but not for much longer. British Airways have now said that they will be creating more flights to the Caribbean, making travel more frequent and easier for the general public. So far BA is unmatched for its amount of flights to the Caribbean across the UK. We will be able to see these new flights starting to appear in October.

Trevor McDonald has embarked on a travel documentary this year around all of the Caribbean islands. This is sure to give us all some amazing insight into these wonderful areas, holidays will probably be more sought after, especially after he visits some of the best hotels ad resorts in the world. When you watch the documentary, it will become clear where the best places in the world are to go on holiday.

St Lucia holidays and weddings abroad seem to be something that interests all Celebrities, so if you want to feel like one, then give it a go.

Egypt is very large and is up in the north east of Africa. These holidays are designed for people to come and relax, enjoy the sights and if you want maybe embark on a small adventure.

One of Egypt’s most prominent features is obviously its pyramids. At the end of its completion, the Great Pyramid stood over 140 metres high. Because these were designed for gods these structures needed to be of huge proportion. The Great Pyramid of Giza was built around 2561 BC, that’s about 4500 years ago. Egypt has a fantastically preserved history, the Pyramids being a part of it. The Sight of the Nile or the Sphinx is enough persuasion to get anyone to go to Egypt.

The holiday resorts in Egypt are gorgeous as well. They are truly beautiful sites to behold. Just like the Pyramids even the resorts that you can stay in today are heavenly. Head off to Alexandria and experience Egypt’s life in the City, you can stay in some amazing hotels. Egypt has held some of the Ancient wonders of the World. Many years ago, Alexandria did contain one of the Seven Wonders of The World. This Lighthoue was built over two thousand years ago, it was thought that it towered at about one hundred and thirty five metres tall, it was severely damaged by an earthquake and fell a few years later.

Still in all of these places like Alexandria is the evidence of a powerful and unique ancient civilization that used to roam the world many years ago. Egypt holidays aren’t all just about the site seeing though. Diving has become a big tourist pull in Egypt, it has allowed them to turn over much more money in the tourism industry due to the beautiful diving sites in the Red Sea.

Luxury holidays in Egypt have been a growing attraction to tourists all over the world, and with trips to the Pyramids and the likes of Mount Sinai Caribbean holidays have a new holiday hot-spot contender.

Celebrities spotted in the Caribbean, pictures must be taken!

If you do embark on these holidays, you will find that they are not all about having a relaxing time. When you discovered that a celebrity is going to be spending there holiday in the same place as you, what are the chances you will just forget about it? Celebrities love their Caribbean holidays, no matter what they will find a lovely place to stay, have a few drinks and get many pictures placed in the papers back home.

Amy Winehouse has been staying in St Lucia for the past couple of months recovering. Would you not be in there to get a picture if you could, especially seeing as she has been in the papers so much recently.

Johnny Depp owns a three million dollar house in the Bahamas and is a regular visitor. If on your trip to the Bahamas you met him, surely that is enough reason to head out there. However if you dont want to see Johnny Depp (More for the ladies) then Shakira is joint owner of a small island with Roger Waters in the Bahamas. Now visiting these places all of a sudden makes you feel like a celebrity yourself, and when you see them it makes you all giddy and fills you with excitement.

Finally if these “A-listers” aren’t enough for you there is also the world-wide famous actor Nicholas Cage. Well Mr Cage is Johnny Depp’s next door neighbour, so it could be a case that you might bump into the both of them. If you did meet a celeb it would be a great memory to take home and share with your friends.

If you’re interested in having weddings abroad, then you should consider going on St Lucia holidays, you might bump into the famous/Infamous Amy Winehouse.

Just because of Swine Flu, holiday prices in Mexico have plummeted!!

It may come as a surprise to you, but the best holiday destination in the world at the moment is Mexico. There is some really very good reasoning for all of this. With all the bad press Mexico has received about Swine Flu, all of the holiday resorts and travel deals have cut their prices by around fifty percent!!

Because of the situation that Mexico has fallen into, they have had to make some drastic changes to all of their holiday offers. A huge problem for all of this is that Mexico has been losing out on massive amounts of tourism trade. Caribbean holidays have also been affected by this and have lost revenue because of the epidemic across the sea.

You can even find some hotels that will offer you a 1 hundred dollar deposit at the hotel for you to spend on hotel services. So is this the best place to go for your holiday now, as far as it looks it most certainly is. Both the Caribbean and Mexico have not had much good news published about them because of the Swine Flu but the holiday offers are amazing.

So is there actually any risk of you catching it? Could you contract it? As Swine Flu cases are dropping, the press are not going to be advertising it quite as much. An article posted in the Sunday Times Travel section even mentions Mexican Hoteliers offering free holidays for 3 YEARS to any tourists who catch Swine Flu within 14 days of visiting their resorts.

So go ahead and try some Mexico holidays or try something more Caribbean like Grenada holidays or Tobago holidays, prices for all of these places have dropped dramatically, your sure to find something you like. If you think of it this way, your just as likely to catch Swine Flu anywhere in the world because it has traveled the globe.
