Spring Break is a time when college students let loose and vacation in any one of the many destinations known for its great beaches.Regrettably, most people’s current financial state with this economy eliminates a few of the more expensive destinations.

However, I still have five amazing beaches that college students can make reservations for now and look forward to several days of sun and sand without breaking the bank.

Ft. Lauderdale. While Florida itself has undergone some changes throughout the years, Ft. Lauderdale is still the place which college students can affordably travel to during Spring Break.

* Acapulco has become as popular as ever with college students.  Now there are more Spring Break packages to Acapulco than ever before.

Unfortunately while Bermuda has always been at the top of the spring break list it is also somewhat pricey.Fortunately nearby Aruba is a wonderful alternative destination with amazing beaches, friendly people, and fantastic weather. An additional bonus is that all Aruba hotels are located on the beach, unlike Bermuda.

The Bahamas is another affordable option and offers reasonably priced accommodations and fabulous beaches.

Lastly, cruises have become highly touted as the best possible vacation venue for most college students and the all-inclusive rates will take you to either “nowhere” or from Florida to the Bahamas.

Safety is also a concern this year, especially in Mexico.  Crime has risen in well-known resorts such as Cancun, and it is advised not to travel there this year.Fortunately Acapulco is the exception.

Finally I have one other suggestion that you may want to consider, Panama City Beach, FL.  It has become a thriving Spring break destination. With beautiful beaches, plentiful parties, and hopping clubs this is one destination college students may want to consider as a last “resort”.”

Any one of these destinations would be a wonderful way to relax and enjoy Spring Break.  It is highly recommended that you book early. Some of the best deals can be found using the internet or your personal travel agent.

Organizing your trip can be a nightmare; you want to make sure you have everything packed, know where you travel documents are, and an itinerary in mind for once you arrive. It is a great idea to do some preliminary research prior to your trip so you can be assured of finding the best tickets at the best prices, especially if you are planning on traveling to Europe as it can be expensive. Moreover, you need to get good deals on the hotels and lodgings that you pick, because Europe is so picturesque, you need days and days to see what makes each city special.

The problem just keeps getting bigger if you decide to go to Europe at the last minute. There are many things that can go wrong in your panic. Insufficient planning can result in late arrivals which can certainly ruin any itinerary you had previously planned. You can mess up a lot of things when you pack, and you can miss a lot of important things if you do not have a lot of time to pack up. Two of the most common reasons holidays end in chaos are panic and distress.

If you think you may, at some point, be traveling to Europe on the spur of the moment here are a few tips to keep in mind to ensure a great holiday.

Writing lists can literally save your holiday. Even if are mentally aware of what needs to be done you want to put it on paper. On off days, when you do not have to worry about last minute things such as travel and packing, take some time to sit down and make a list of things that you would need to bring if you were to suddenly go to Europe. I even suggest that you list the basics such as your passport and toiletries as these are items which are typically forgotten! Finally, put your list in a safe place where you can access it immediately if the need arises.

– Don’t underestimate the power of your agent either. Prepare lists of potential inexpensive hotels and find out if there are any items particularly necessary for European travel (i.e. power converters). By talking things through with others you are creating useful resources for when you do find yourself heading to Europe.

Do your research on the world’s largest library, the internet, and subscribe to travel updates from discount airlines and hotels. Visit hotel websites regularly and see what deals are available. This way, you are aware of what discounts there are, so that when you get to start going to Europe and have to travel at the last minute, you can immediately log on to the website that you need and get yourself discounts on lodging.
