Located approximately 60 kilometres south of Queensland’s capital city of Brisbane, Tamborine Mountain is a volcanic plateau set within Australia’s Gold Coast hinterland.

An outpouring of lava from nearby Mount Warning – many millenia ago – created Tamborine Mountain’s lush, forested plateau which is approximately 8 km long by 5 km wide and now sits 600 metres above sea level.

The many attractions of the Mount Tamborine area and its picturesque villages include craft and antique shops, cafes and restaurants and numerous galleries which attract thousands of tourists every season.

The area is also known for its award-winning wineries with many offering tours, free tastings and affordable meals in beautiful surroundings. If you enjoy walking, nine National Parks within the region await you. Shady walking tracks lead through magnificent subtropical rainforest and past breathtaking waterfalls, natural swimming holes and rock pools. Sun dappled picnic, BBQ and rest areas pepper the way and spectacular lookouts offer stunning views towards the ocean as well as to the West over the hinterland.

The Rainforest Discovery Skywalk is one of the latest Tamborine Mountain attractions and was completed in early 2009. Set on 30 acres of magnificent rainforest and alongside a tumbling creek, the Skywalk consists of an eco walking trail that leads to a 40m-long platform set 30m above the rainforest canopy. A short drive away, another popular attraction are the Glow-worm Caves that offer guided underground sightseeing tours through two spectacular man made caves filled with thousands of glow worms.

The rich volcanic soil of the area supports a diversity of horticulture which can be enjoyed on nature walks as well as by visiting the local Botanic Gardens. The bounty of many Tamborine Mountain residents’ gardens is also on display at several roadside stalls that abound with kiwi fruit, rhubarb, avocados and macadamia nuts quaintly displayed around an ‘Honesty Box’.

This small plateau also thrives with animal and bird life. Platypus, green tree frogs, scrub turkeys, wallabies and of course koalas form part of the Mountain’s varied range of wildlife and in the morning, the calls of lorikeets, kookaburras and lyrebirds can be heard.

The state of Queensland is known as Australia’s ‘Sunshine State’. On Tamborine Mountain, you can enjoy abundant sunshine year-round but without the heat and humidity that the more northerly parts of Queensland often endure.

The surfing beaches, shopping malls, theme parks (including Warner Brothers and Sea World) plus many other Gold Coast attractions are a comfortable 40-minute drive from Mount Tamborine while Brisbane is one hour away, making the Mountain the ideal ‘base-camp’ location from which to explore south-east Queensland.

The nearest international airport is Brisbane, however national travellers often land at Coolangatta (Gold Coast) airport, a mere 45-minute drive from Tamborine Mountain.

Whether you are parents-to-be seeking a tranquil Babymoon destination, a newly engaged couple looking for that perfect Honeymoon location or if you are simply looking for the best Mt Tamborine Bed and Breakfast you will delight in the serene privacy of Mount Tamborine’s Witches Falls Cottages.

Witches Falls Cottages offer an idyllic retreat to nature and consist of private cottages tucked away along rainforest pathways in one of Tamborine Mountain’s and perhaps even Australia’s most secluded and peaceful locations.

There are few vacations more relaxing than a Caribbean cruise; as long as you don’t count the flurry of preparations that must take place before that ship ever sets sail. The good news is that packing doesn't have to be another stress in the midst of stopping the mail and applying for your passport. With a few simple tips under your belt, you can fill up those suitcases and be ready for any fun in the sun that might come along. If you have a Caribbean cruise in your future, read on for packing tips to make your tropical vacation easy and enjoyable.

Make a List
A Caribbean cruise is sure to include frolics at the pool and on the beach, while the nightlife on cruise ships will require clothing of a completely different kind. The best place to start packing for your Caribbean cruise is with a list based on what you will be doing on each day of your trip. You will want to research the ship you are traveling on to find out what the dress code is for evening and what the recommendations might be for excursions and days at sea. For example, a week-long Royal Caribbean cruise may include one formal night and one or two semi-formal nights in the dining room. Feel free to add as many items to your list as you like to begin, but be prepared to pare that list down considerably before placing anything into your suitcases.

Keep it Short
The short list will help to ensure that you remain within luggage guidelines mandated by your airlines and allow you to get from point A to point B in the most convenient way possible. Some people find that organizing a wardrobe around two or three colors or pairs of shoes is the best way to shorten the packing list for a Caribbean cruise. Many seasoned travelers can often get away with a pair of shoes for walking, a casual pair and a dressy pair, even if the Caribbean cruise is a full week long. Others like to choose two or three basic colors and coordinate their entire wardrobe around those hues so they don’t have to bring as many items to get a large assortment of outfits.

Don't Forget Necessities
Since you will be out to sea for much of your Caribbean cruise with limited shopping opportunities, it is important to remember items like sunscreen, sunglasses, bathing suits, a camera, and essential toiletries. While some of these items might be available in the ship's gift shop, they will probably be priced much higher than you want to go for the basics. You can find many packing lists for a Caribbean cruise online to ensure you remember all of the essentials for your trip.

A Caribbean cruise is a lovely vacation, especially when you are well packed and supplied for your trip. Follow these tips for smooth sailing and Bon Voyage!

Everybody eagerly looks forward to their annual vacations. As our vacation time draws closer we’ll start to count the days until we pack our holiday clothes and head off for a week or two in the sun.

Unfortunately many people head for their holiday destinations without giving hardly a thought to the need for insurance. This is particularly true for those who don’t arrange their holidays through a travel agent. Travel agencies will generally remind people of the need for holiday insurance but even when they do many people take out the cheapest policy possible which can often be inadequate for many circumstances.

Many people don’t take out adequate insurance cover because they don’t expect they will need. Nobody expects to enounter the nightmare of needing serious medical attention or being the victim of crime while on holiday. Its an unfortunate fact of life that emergencies do arise and when they occur abroad they can be incredibly expensive. For example, if the worst was to happen and you needed to be flown home to the UK it could set you back many thousands of pounds. The cost of being flown home from the United States in an air ambulance is between £35K and £45K and from the Canary Islands the cost could be between £12K and £16K.

Nobody plans for disaster or being flown home in an air ambulance but imagine that the worst did happen and you had to pay these costs out of your own pocket?

I’ve been very lucky while away on holiday, never having had need for medical attention, but I have, on two occasions, needed to claim for lost or stolen items. On one occasion, while travelling in India, I had my camera stolen from my bag on a train. And on another occasion my suitcase was completely lost by the airline when I flew to Italy.

These losses should reinforce my message that holiday insurance is really an essential. Having your personal possessions stolen while on holiday is bad enough but it can be a lot worse if you don’t have adequate insurance cover.

Always be sure to read the details of your holiday insurance policy as there are always exclusions that you really need to be aware of. For example, did you know that most holiday insurance policies will not cover drink or drug related incidents?

It is worth remembering that cheaper policies will tend to offer less cover than the more expensive ones. Before committing to the cheaper option consider whether you are being tempted by the initial saving and be certain that the policy covers you for all those hefty expenses that can occur, particularly when medical assistance is required.

You can often save money by looking at annual multi-trip insurance or by looking at group insurance policies for your whole family. If there is one travel expense that should be absolutely essential it is the need for adequate holiday insurance cover.

No matter how affordable your cheap car rental deals are, they are more likely than not going to come with insurance that you need to add to your costs incurred. However, don’t hate having to buy cheap car rental insurance. It is a lifesaver should anything happen.

Insurance is there for a reason, to safeguard the rental company from huge losses and to safeguard you from the same. There are different types of cheap car rental insurance that you can choose from. Picking the right insurance is just as important as actually taking out rental insurance.

Making The Right Insurance Choice

One of the most common and most affordable rental insurance options is collision damage or loss damage insurance. This really is cheap car rental insurance at its best. This option covers you for anything, including the excess, in case of a collision accident. You can also look into personal accident insurance. This is a cheap car rental insurance option that can cost you big time if you don’t have it. Before you discard this type of insurance, thank carefully about what can happen during an accident. This insurance offers you cover for accidental death as well as medical treatment for yourself and your passengers if there is an accident or a collision.

If you are going to be travelling with valuables in your car you will want property insurance on those items in your self drive rental car. This cheap car rental insurance offers you cover from damage, loss and theft of those items in your rental. What happens if you cause an accident? You need liability insurance. This will cover you in the case of any accidents that lead to claims against you. These can be claims for property damage, injury and more.

Rental insurance does not have to be expensive in order to save you from all the unsavory things that can happen. Cheap car rental insurance can cost you a minimal amount. However, what it can save you is astronomical. Looking into car rental services, find out about the different rental insurance options that the specific rental dealer offers.

See if they are reasonably priced as well as if they offer you the type of rental insurance that you want. Do some comparative shopping so that you can find value cheap car rental insurance as well as rental deals. And always remember to read the fine print carefully so that you know exactly where you stand at all times.

Recently a group of colleagues went on a road trip. Needless to say the first bickering was over whose car will be used for the trip. The most bothersome of all the questions was the service, wear and tear of the car to be used. Needless to say, nobody really wanted to use their car for obvious reasons. After much squabbling and debate it was decided that they will hire a car from a so-called reputable agent.

As it was off peak season, there were many offers on cheap car rentals on the market. There were many cheap car rental agents to choose from, and frankly that suited everybody’s pocket. But the drama was not over, as our good friends had not really done much research on the cheap car rentals in terms of where the real cost was.

As much as we are coastally bombarded by the sweet promises of excellent deals and savings on cheap car rentals, promising cheap and affordable hassle free deals; he fine print in the contract will always remain a real mystery to us all.

Is Cheap Really Cheap?

One needs to understand that agents generally advertise cheap car rental deals when they have excess vehicles in their fleet. Off peak season also generally promotes and lure people towards the option of a cheap car rental. Competition may also be a factor towards agents lowering their prices.

Although the real cost saving on the cheap car rental deals in time; in terms of time saved should one decide to fly to you destination and then rent a car to be mobile where you going. In this view I would support the idea of cheap car rental being the way to go. However, in lieu of the fact that there are unscrupulous dealers and agents making cheap car rentals and a money monger of a cheap one way car rental.

So, for all the people who wish to make a vacation a good time to relax without the worry and stress of the hidden cost in cheap car rental deals, here is the word of advice to you:

Do your homework

Do your research

Don’t be afraid to shop around for a quotation

Do your math

Check the real cost of the insurance cover – preferably take the maximum insurance cover

Read the fine print

Don’t be afraid to ask the questions on the cheap car rental deal being offered.

Explore alternative options

Don’t be taken for a ride on cheap self drive car rental deals albeit the affordable and easy way to go the responsibility is yours to ensure that you know exactly what you are getting yourself into.

Do you need to know what we need more of? This is a simple question to answer, if you give it some legit thought. Vacations! Yeah, that is’s right. Do any of us actually get enough time to wind down? Okay, Paris Hilton does not count. As for the remainder of us, we desire more down-time. I am chatting about just kicking back with a nice frosty brew and not a care in the world. That’s the way to live. Sadly it’s not that common for us Americans. Just look out our work schedules and ethics. Infrequently I will not help but consider how silly it all is. We spend far too much time working and not near sufficient time enjoying life and the world around us. That’s’s sad! I’m able to tell you at the moment that what i need is a nice ireland vacation.

I’ve always had a wish to take an ireland vacation. It’s all about getting in touch with my roots. You see, my mother’s family all came over from Eire way back. Therefore I’m at least half Irish. I suspect it makes complete sense to take a long Eire vacation and see where it is my mother’s family derived from. I need to see the way the country compares to the states and what dazzling views it has to offer. Heck, I would like to hit up all of the local Irish bars and taste some of that fine and powerful ale that I hear people raving about. I’m going to admit that it’s tricky deciding on a vacation spot since there are literally hundreds to select from. However, one can always go based totally on the opinions and experiences of others. So far I have heard many individuals tell me nice things about ireland overall. It’s high time for me to indulge in a week long Eire holiday to see things for myself.

If you are considering an enjoyable Eire holiday, then i suggest the first place you check out is the World-Wide-Web. Get online and take a gander at all the wonderful and inexpensive package deals that are currently available. Not to point out that they’re totally cheap, but you know what I mean. If you get a package deal ireland vacation, you’re sure to save some $. This can include lodging, airfare and sometimes meals. Hop on your private PC today and explore the possibilities. That perfect Eire vacation is waiting for you.

Ireland is a beautiful, hospitable place but their public transport system leaves much to wish for. If you’re wanting to see all of the exciting sights of this amazing country you will need to book cheap Irish car rental from Instant Car Hire.

We are not really the type of family that end up going abroad a lot, simply because of the fact that it works out very expensive. We are a regular working class family, who can just about afford to pay the bills, eat and drink. Our usual holidays just consist of visiting a caravan park out of season and spending a bit of time together.

My story started when we agreed to enter a family holiday exchange event, where we had to take a random family on holiday with us and then they took us on holiday. When we applied we never in a million years thought that we would get chosen, but when we received a phone call we were simply over the moon.

When we initially met the family seemed very nice, although they has much more money then us I knew we could all get along. First things first were when they came on holiday with us, we took them to the caravan park. After only a day or so I could see that the other family were unhappy, they were not used to living rough, but I applaud them for putting up with it.

As time got closer and closer I started to get anxious and happy because I knew that the family were going to take us on holiday abroad, something that I had never done before. When they announced we were off to some India spa holidays I was jumping with joy. When we arrived it was like heaven on Earth. The next days were something that I cannot describe.

Since returning back I now go out of my way to make sure that I visit spa holidays every single year, sometimes even twice a year.
