London is a vibrant City and London is a business city. People visit London for many different reasons. Some come to the great capital for business purposes; some come to the city to visit the famous Landmarks and the many places of interest the City has to offer. The most visited Landmarks include; The Trafalgar Square, St Paul’s Cathedral, London Eye, House of Parliament, The Westminster Abbey and what have you. There are others who also who cannot resist shopping in the great Capital. A lot of shops can be found on the Europe’s famous shopping street; the Oxford street, Bond Street and Regent street.

Companies are very concerned about the negative impact of the world credit crunch. Some businesses are laying workers off because of a lot of close downs. Cutting down of the work force and redundancy is seen all over the place. According to experts, the credit crunch will be around for sometime. The credit crunch has not affected one industry. London hotel industry is my point of reference. What effects are we seeing on the London hotel industry? The research on the article has been made only on London hotels and bed and breakfast.

My little research I have made gives me the implication that the negative effect of the so called Credit crunch has not yet gripped the London hotels industry. As a reservation agency for hotels, we have been in association with both small hotels and big hotels for sometime now. The research was started in August 2008 but London hotels continue to be busy to date.

Dates hotels are full up or approaching full up can be closed out on our real system for the hotels which have joined our portal. One finds it a bit difficult to understand why during weekends and weekdays hotels still get full up with this credit crunch
.
During the peak season in London hotels industry (May to End of July), hotels will be full up almost everyday. There are most of the times no rooms for us to book for our clients. Some London hotels are full up for some future dates. Rooms in some hotels run out and they have to speak to other hotels to accept guests and accommodate some of their guests for them. One wonders why our agency is not getting rooms to book for our clients. This is because hotels have closed out dates on the system.

As the exchange rate of the pound to the other currencies has gone down, travellers may be feel that they stand to get more value for their money when they shop or spend their holidays in London. In view of that hotels still get full up because more travellers come in. The British Pound was not performing badly with the other major currencies for the whole of the year 2008. Is it the importance of London or its popularity that has made it imperative for people to visit regardless of the situation? If in the near future the article will have to be rewritten due to more findings, I will not hesitate to do so. Once the credit crunch hits the London hotel industry, travellers will get low rates for the hotel rooms. This is because they will be guaranteed special London hotel offers, cheap London hotels accommodation and also cheap London bed and breakfast rates. The Tavistock hotel London is an example of such hotels.

I have been a business associate for 10 years to one of my suppliers and he invited me to London. I have paid visits to my suppliers in France and Holland some years ago. I wanted to see with my own eyes some of the things I have read about London in School so I was anxious to visit the City. I deliberately book my hotel in two parts. Spend one week at Tavistock hotels and the other week at a Hotel in Victoria. I wanted to be close the Landmarks in the area.

I got to Tavistock hotel by Taxi from the airport after going through all formalities at the airport. The journey to the hotel took more than an hour. In Bloomsbury, the Russell Square area has good hotels.

I was so fond of the area although that was my first day. With my map, I decided to hit town and explore the capital which I have read so much about. To say all at onec, London was not different from the London I read about in books and magazines. For that, I was so happy. In Bloomsbury there is the British Library and the British Museum. I toured both places on the first day. From there and with the aid of my map and people on the street, I was able to navigate my way to Covent Garden where there we a lot of street performers.

For the rest of the week at Tavistock hotel London, I visited the West end area. I just went to Marble Arch and the Oxford Circus areas to explore the areas. I visited the Leicester Square which is sometime called The Theatreland. The area has got a lot of cinema theatres. I also visited Piccadilly Circus. It was in fact another busy area of London because it is very close to Leicester Square. I paid a visit to the shopping streets in the West End area on my 5th day and was surprised to see that the place was so dense with shoppers and other tourists. It was so surprising to see that the three famous shopping Streets in london were all filled with people. Each of the shopping streets was busy but the Oxford Street was much more dense. I also went to Soho and also to China Town.

I went to stay in Victoria area in my second week as booked through Cheap London hotels agency. Victoria area was the place I was dying to be because there were a lot of exciting Landmarks to see. At Victoria, my first place of interest I visited was Buckingham Palace to witness the changing of the guard. I had the desire to go to the site of the Tower clock or the Big Ben for what I have read in books and picure I have seen of it. You cannot see the Big Ben or the Tower clock without see the Houses of Parliamnet. I also grabbed the opportunity to visit the Westminster Abbey. London eye was the final Landmark I visited. How this structure was built will forever amaze me. The London ey will continue to be one of the best Landmarks in London for quite sometime. I enjoyed my stay in Central London and I would like to stay in the cheap hotels in Russell square as they have good accommodation standard but lower rates.
