The allure of the Hawaiian Islands has beckoned to travelers for many years. One of the reasons for Hawaii’s popularity is the many islands of which you can choose to visit when you get there.  Each one offers unique sights and different activities. Right now there are many reasonable priced discounted Hawaii vacations that you can take advantage of to get you to your favorite island. Oahu is the most well known of the Hawaiian Islands with Honolulu and Pearl Harbor. The Big Island of Hawaii gives you a unique opportunity to visit a volcano that makes up the National Park there. If you want a quieter experience visit Kauai or Molokai. If you have enough time you could visit all of the islands and sample each one’s specialties.

Oahu is world famous for its beaches. The north side of the island is a great place to surf or just thrill to the sights of others riding some of the biggest waves in the world. Winter is the season for large surf on the north side, while during the summer months the calm flat ocean provides the best snorkeling available. The Pearl Harbor memorial is also a must-visit if your travels take you to this wonderful island.

Because of its intense beauty the island of Kauai is called the Garden Island. On this island paradise a secluded waterfall in Hawaii will beckon you to swim in the crystal clear water. Wonderfully lush canyons with fragrant Plumerias await the adventurous hiker for exploration. Skim the sand and surf and experience breathtaking views like no others when you take a ride with one of the many helicopter tour companies on the island. With a little extra effort you can search out a quiet cove and have a romantic afternoon on the beach in your own little private beach. Yes Kauai is known for exceptional and unique beauty as well as experiences that can be found no where else. If you are a movie buff do some research and visit the many locations where your favorite movie has been filmed. Recent block busters such as Jurassic Park and Indiana Jones have been filmed here in addition to many other famous movies dating back to the 1930’s.

The Friendly Island is the moniker that explains Molokai today. This island is less developed than the others, thus it remains a wonderful showcase of what Hawaiian life is. They offer mule rides to take you to the north side of the island.  The leper colony was once at this site that is now a historical park.  The all day ride wanders through the island and down 1,700 feet to the former settlement. Throughout the ride you will be traversing on switchbacks and enjoying the pristine wilderness of Hawaii. Molokai is striving to restore the ancient ways with the Hawaiian fishponds. They were once used as a clever use of aquaculture.

Travel between the Hawaiian Islands is easy; you can fly from island to island or take any number of boats which travel between them. One of the best ships to travel on is the Molokai Princess, which shuttles between Molokai and Maui. For a visitor on a more limited budget, an island ferry boat can get you there comfortably and cheaply.
