Egypt uncovered with cheap Sharm el Sheikh hotels

When it comes to top holiday destinations abroad, Sharm el Sheikh has to be applauded for its determination and consistency. The destination has successfully transformed itself from out-of-the-way backpacker town to mega tourist magnet and – what’s more – has made it look easy. The hard work has been well rewarded and today it is well established as a top holiday resort with one purpose: to deliver the ultimate holiday experience. Excellent year-round weather and huge diversity, from desert to sea, have contributed to its all round appeal. Added to this, with Egypt having attracted praise this year as a great value holiday destination, visitors to Sharm el Sheikh can benefit from a good mix of luxury and affordability as well.

Hotels

You’re unlikely to find uninterrupted calm and seclusion on your visit to Sharm el Sheikh, but you could find pretty much everything else. The range of Sharm el Sheikh hotels on offer is impressive, from top quality luxury hotels to cheap family-friendly resorts. Renowed names such as Sheraton, Hilton and Ritz Carlton have all moved in over the years. Happily, they don’t have to come with a high price tag as there are numerous deals and special offers around at the moment allowing you guilt free indulgence. If you’re looking for something more low key, then there are plenty of boutique hotels and budget resorts on offer.

Things to do

Sharm el Sheikh is fortunate to have an incredible natural backdrop meaning that the list of things to do is as varied and accommodating as its choice of hotels. The region’s greatest attractions have always been underwater. Scuba divers and snorkelling enthusiasts will find themselves in particularly good company with mass of exotic marine life and stunning coral reefs on offer, but there are plenty of other water sports to enjoy, including sailing, jetskiing and wind surfing.

If keeping your feet on dry land seems more appealing, then you can investigate activities at the other end of the spectrum and venture into the desert for some camel trekking, or perhaps investigate golf facilities and spas closer to your hotel. Desert safaris, shopping and sunbathing go without saying, of course.

Culture

With Sharm el Sheikh being so well known for its activities you could be forgiven for thinking that history and culture have taken a back seat. However, one of Egypt’s most important religious sites lies just nearby. St Catherine’s monastery is where Moses is said to have seen the burning bush before travelling up Mount Sinai close by to receive the Ten Commandments.

Night time

Sharm el Sheikh is not short on entertainment for those seeking a wild night out and has a Vegas-style quality thanks to its bright lights, bars, clubs and casinos. It’s bright and vibrant street scenes are reminiscent of Vegas nightlife. It does, however, have one distinct advantage over America’s own land-locked playground… Sharm el Sheikh’s central charms will always come back to its beautiful coastlines and breathtaking underwater vistas.

Sharm el Sheikh may have transformed itself into a platform for tourist indulgence, but its humble beginnings lie in its natural wonders. Explore them to the fullest with some excellent deals on Sharm el Sheikh hotels this winter.

Australia’s best-kept secret – Tamborine Mountain

Located approximately 60 kilometres south of Queensland’s capital city of Brisbane, Tamborine Mountain is a volcanic plateau set within Australia’s Gold Coast hinterland.

An outpouring of lava from nearby Mount Warning – many millenia ago – created Tamborine Mountain’s lush, forested plateau which is approximately 8 km long by 5 km wide and now sits 600 metres above sea level.

The many attractions of the Mount Tamborine area and its picturesque villages include craft and antique shops, cafes and restaurants and numerous galleries which attract thousands of tourists every season.

The area is also known for its award-winning wineries with many offering tours, free tastings and affordable meals in beautiful surroundings. If you enjoy walking, nine National Parks within the region await you. Shady walking tracks lead through magnificent subtropical rainforest and past breathtaking waterfalls, natural swimming holes and rock pools. Sun dappled picnic, BBQ and rest areas pepper the way and spectacular lookouts offer stunning views towards the ocean as well as to the West over the hinterland.

The Rainforest Discovery Skywalk is one of the latest Tamborine Mountain attractions and was completed in early 2009. Set on 30 acres of magnificent rainforest and alongside a tumbling creek, the Skywalk consists of an eco walking trail that leads to a 40m-long platform set 30m above the rainforest canopy. A short drive away, another popular attraction are the Glow-worm Caves that offer guided underground sightseeing tours through two spectacular man made caves filled with thousands of glow worms.

The rich volcanic soil of the area supports a diversity of horticulture which can be enjoyed on nature walks as well as by visiting the local Botanic Gardens. The bounty of many Tamborine Mountain residents’ gardens is also on display at several roadside stalls that abound with kiwi fruit, rhubarb, avocados and macadamia nuts quaintly displayed around an ‘Honesty Box’.

This small plateau also thrives with animal and bird life. Platypus, green tree frogs, scrub turkeys, wallabies and of course koalas form part of the Mountain’s varied range of wildlife and in the morning, the calls of lorikeets, kookaburras and lyrebirds can be heard.

The state of Queensland is known as Australia’s ‘Sunshine State’. On Tamborine Mountain, you can enjoy abundant sunshine year-round but without the heat and humidity that the more northerly parts of Queensland often endure.

The surfing beaches, shopping malls, theme parks (including Warner Brothers and Sea World) plus many other Gold Coast attractions are a comfortable 40-minute drive from Mount Tamborine while Brisbane is one hour away, making the Mountain the ideal ‘base-camp’ location from which to explore south-east Queensland.

The nearest international airport is Brisbane, however national travellers often land at Coolangatta (Gold Coast) airport, a mere 45-minute drive from Tamborine Mountain.

Whether you are parents-to-be seeking a tranquil Babymoon destination, a newly engaged couple looking for that perfect Honeymoon location or if you are simply looking for the best Mt Tamborine Bed and Breakfast you will delight in the serene privacy of Mount Tamborine’s Witches Falls Cottages.

Witches Falls Cottages offer an idyllic retreat to nature and consist of private cottages tucked away along rainforest pathways in one of Tamborine Mountain’s  and perhaps  even Australia’s most secluded and peaceful locations.

East London is the only river port in the country of South Africa because of its location on the south-eastern coast of Eastern Cape province of South Africa. It lays between two rivers on both north and south i.e. Nahoon and Buffalo respectively. Not only the location but the easy way of living as well as an earnest sense of hospitality of the locals will win your heart and make you feel like being at a home away from home. Another enchanting factor about this place is the sub-tropical climate, which can make you feel more relaxed, especially with the warm waters of Indian Ocean. You will not even have linguistic problems as English is generally understood and also spoken in many areas, despite IsiXhosa being the local language.

The Gonibu Beach

25 Kilometres north of East London is the Gonubie Beach. It is connected to East London by the n2. The blue flag status had been given to Gonubie Beach. Only beaches that meet crucial standards in environment protection provide safety equipment and personal on hand are given this prestigious international award. A scenic wooden boardwalk, passing man made tidal pools and lush native vegetation separates the main parking lot and the beach.

Nahoon Beach

If you are searching for a beach that is not crowded and that caters to many different interests such as surfing, fishing and sun bathing, you may want to consider Nahoon Beach. It is located in East London and is named after a Xhosa chief who was from the local area. In addition to offering many kilometres of beautiful and unpolluted sand, this beach is the home of a surfing club and it sponsors surfing competitions.

Orient Beach

Are you looking for a safe and lovely beach in London this summer? Then you want to head for the Quigney suburb and go down to the southern end of the Esplanade there to find Orient Beach. It’s a favourite of tourists and locals alike. The harbour has breakwaters that protect the cove and there are lifeguards there too, so you can take the whole family and swim in safety. Add to that the two circular swimming pools surrounded by green lawns and you have bathing and swimming room for thousands of people. In season, there are changing facilities, a refreshment kiosk and many restaurants close by. Add to that the hotels and shops on the Esplanade and there’s not much that’s lacking for you at Orient Beach.

East London Car Rental

If you need to travel around, you can be sure to get great rates on East London car rentals by visiting carrentalssa.co.za.

The Aquarium

The Friends of East London Aquarium, the oldest aquarium in southern Africa that the public can visit, opened on December 2, 1931. One of the aquarium’s goals is to help marine animals that have been injured due to pollution or other unfortunate circumstances. Many animals are rehabilitated and returned to their homes in the ocean every year. Another of the aquarium’s goals is to educate the public about the ocean’s eco system so they can understand and respect it. In the aquarium there are big, beautiful, illuminated fish tanks that feature local fish.

Visitors enjoying a seaside holiday in East London will undoubtedly want to return time and time again after viewing the migration of the stunning Southern Right whales. As they move southwards along the coast of southern Africa toward their arctic feeding grounds, the whales often linger offshore near East London. Magnificent bay views of the whales may be seen from the aquarium’s eleven metre platform, situated directly above the surf itself.

Indonesia Tourism Relief As Holidays To Bali Voted As Amongst World’s Best

Travel and Leisure magazine has named Bali as the worlds favourite holiday island following a recent poll of its readership.

The poll award comes as great news for a very worried Indonesian tourism industry which once again is facing a threatening crisis following terrorist attacks. The latest of course being the bombings of the JW Marriot and Ritz Carlton hotels in Jakarta last month.

Bali has topped the list of island destinations nominated which includes the Galapagos and Maui. The chief of the Bali Tourism Board, Ida Bagus Ngurah Wijaya, said that he hoped the first place award would be a string sign that Bali and Indonesia holidays would remain a successful economic earner for this part of South East Asia.

Many people believe that the latest bombings in Indonesia are unlikely to signal the catastophic decline in Holidays To Bali and Indonesia that the original bombing in 2002 produced though initial figures do show that many have cancelled their flights and holidays to Bali. “Although some hotels in Bali had reported cancellations of foreign tourist arrivals, this could not yet be taken as reflecting the whole situation in the industry,” Association of Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA) chairman Ben Sukma said. Initial reports say that many luxury hotels in and around Indonesia have seen significant occupany decline, presumably as propsective guests are fearful of similar attacks. The backpackers many of whom are from the UK, the Australian youth for whom Bali is a popular party venue and other such traditional tourists who flock to the area seem to be unperturbed.

Since the original Bali bombing attack in 2002 targets at home have of course been targeted by terrorists and there is a considered feeling amongst many tourists that the threat of terror attack is just as likely at home as in countries such as Indonesia. Advices for Packing for a Caribbean Cruise

There are few vacations more relaxing than a Caribbean cruise; as long as you don’t count the flurry of preparations that must take place before that ship ever sets sail. The good news is that packing doesn't have to be another stress in the midst of stopping the mail and applying for your passport. With a few simple tips under your belt, you can fill up those suitcases and be ready for any fun in the sun that might come along. If you have a Caribbean cruise in your future, read on for packing tips to make your tropical vacation easy and enjoyable.

Make a List
A Caribbean cruise is sure to include frolics at the pool and on the beach, while the nightlife on cruise ships will require clothing of a completely different kind. The best place to start packing for your Caribbean cruise is with a list based on what you will be doing on each day of your trip. You will want to research the ship you are traveling on to find out what the dress code is for evening and what the recommendations might be for excursions and days at sea. For example, a week-long Royal Caribbean cruise may include one formal night and one or two semi-formal nights in the dining room. Feel free to add as many items to your list as you like to begin, but be prepared to pare that list down considerably before placing anything into your suitcases.

Keep it Short
The short list will help to ensure that you remain within luggage guidelines mandated by your airlines and allow you to get from point A to point B in the most convenient way possible. Some people find that organizing a wardrobe around two or three colors or pairs of shoes is the best way to shorten the packing list for a Caribbean cruise. Many seasoned travelers can often get away with a pair of shoes for walking, a casual pair and a dressy pair, even if the Caribbean cruise is a full week long. Others like to choose two or three basic colors and coordinate their entire wardrobe around those hues so they don’t have to bring as many items to get a large assortment of outfits.

Don't Forget Necessities
Since you will be out to sea for much of your Caribbean cruise with limited shopping opportunities, it is important to remember items like sunscreen, sunglasses, bathing suits, a camera, and essential toiletries. While some of these items might be available in the ship's gift shop, they will probably be priced much higher than you want to go for the basics. You can find many packing lists for a Caribbean cruise online to ensure you remember all of the essentials for your trip.

A Caribbean cruise is a lovely vacation, especially when you are well packed and supplied for your trip. Follow these tips for smooth sailing and Bon Voyage!

Anyone who is not from the Midwestern United States almost certainly has not seen a lot of Amish country citizens. In fact, a friend of mine from Australia just told me that Amish people are more legendary than factual where she’s from; they’re like leprechauns or unicorns. Not so in the state of Indiana! Indiana is filled with the rich legacy that comes from the Amish. Just take a trip to Nappanee, Middlebury, or Shipshewana.

As you first drive into the town of Nappanee, Indiana, you will notice the 19th century storefronts, filled with bakeries, great family restaurants, and even home decorating boutique stores.
