Getting an IOW ferry seems to be a better bet than some other options for travelling to Bestival, including a bunch of loonies who intend to Swim to Bestival.They’ve done it two years running, swimming across the Solent in the company of safety kayaks arriving at the summer’s last great festival in some style, if a little wet and knackered!  It’s all in a good cause though, with money being raised for several charities, so don’t throw stuff at them as you cruise past in the luxurious IOW ferry.

Most people who come to Bestival camp and it really is the best way to experience it. You can take your own tent or hire a more luxurious Tipi, Yurt or Podpad.  You can also bring you own campervan to Bestival as the Isle of Wight ferries will easily accommodate even the most gargantuan mobile homes.  If you fancy roughing it in a B&B or hotel, then look for places in or near Newport, Ryde or Cowes.

I am often asked about the destinations in my capacity as the UK Director of Operations for One World Tours Limited.

The Pak Ou Caves are an absolutely spectacular sight to behold. One of the caves is filled with hundreds of statues of the Buddha which can be seen through a rugged hole in the cliff face.

Pha That Luang is a Buddhist temple in Vientiane, Laos which was built in the 16th century. The temple was destroyed by a Thai invasion but has since been restored to its former glory. There are some people that believe that relics of the Buddha are housed in this temple. Due to the architecture including the Lao people’s culture and identity,this temple has become a symbol of Lao nationalism.

There is a wonderfully unique place known as the Plain Of Jars, located in the remote north east of Laos, where you will find hundreds of huge stone urns. These stone jars cover an area of several square miles and have become a great crowd puller. In Asia,the urns are one of the most enigmatic ancient sights. To this day the many jars have kept their secret from the many historians who have tried to date them and discover what they actually signify.

On the East Coast of South Africa, in the province of KwaZulu Natal, which is relatively in close proximity to Pietermaritzburg and Margate is a city by the name of Durban. Tourists all over the world come to visit Durban because of its many sigt seeing locations and beautiful weather. Durban is located in a beautiful location with sunny weather and endless sight seeing spots. The city offers tourists attractions for visitors of any age. Many visitors travel to Durban to visit because of its subtropical climate with nearly 320 sunny days out of the year. Usually, the rainy season is between April and September, but even during those times, temperatures remain high enough for the tourists to enjoy Durban’s beaches.

History
Durban, like the other South African places has a diverse cultural heritage even though it is the home of many Indians. The reason fir this is that back in the day slaves were iported to Durban to work on sugar plantations. These slaves brought a lot of strong curry that added flavor in the regions culture and accompanied with their sunny weather – the city got known as “the hot city”.

The uShaka Marine World
The uShaka marine world, being a water based theme park, attracts visitors more because it provides several activities to be performed for the whole day. The park includes a central Sea world, having an underground aquarium, water park, wreck of a cargo ship and a stadium with delightful dolphins and seals. The park provides several leisure activities such as water rides and swimming pools. Stress relief can be achieved at the uShaka beach, which also includes activities such as windsurfing, jet Skiing and beach volleyball. After enjoying the activities, food can be taken at a relaxed state at the park’s restaurants and cafes.

BAT Centre
If you are interested in viewing some of the work of Durban’s artists then the BAT Centre is an excellent place to visit. Here you will have to opportunity to actually see the resident artists while they work on their latest project. Whether you are interested in music or poetry, the BAT Centre will have an event for you to enjoy.

Golden Mile
This is a very popular beach, which begins on South Beach and stretches north to Suncoast Casino and Entertainment World. Each year, droves of tourists arrive here and populate the beautiful beach known as the Golden Mile where they can work on their tans, surf the waves, and take a dip in the refreshing waters of the Indian Ocean. Lifeguards are nearby and there is even a net to divert sharks and other potentially harmful creatures from the guests. In addition, to the various water activities, you can also find a variety of restaurants, clubs and bars, as well as hotel accommodations on the Golden Mile.

Durban is the ideal city for a holiday to be enjoyed. The city has several holiday activities, important tourist attractions along with nominal car rentals. The moderate and wonderful climate is one of the major factor to attract the tourists and thus makes Durban more suitable for everyone.
