While your initial impression of Spain may be one of popular stereotypes – bullfights and Flamenco dancers – in reality it’s an incredibly magnificent country of outstanding landscapes, accentuated by a synergy of mind-blowing architectural integrating a diversity of genres unlike anywhere else in the world. Combined through a smorgasbord of arts, culture, gastronomy, attitudes and styles, many reflecting its tremendous history, Spain is a constitution of a variety of original regional societies that today remain as proudly distinct as they are united within the fabric of a single country.

The Spanish people are among the most open-hearted and communicative in the world; making friends won’t be any problem, especially in the larger urban areas. There is a legendary saying that the Spanish living room is the bar where the people normally spend a lot of their time. And the only way to fully appreciate the excellence of this ‘community’ is to travel Spain from top to bottom.

This synergy has not come easily; past centuries have witnessed incursions by every dominating power of that era: Iberians, Celts, Phonecians, Greeks, Romans, Gothics, Muslims, Christians, Arabs, Moors, French – each contributing to the amalgam which is now the cultural of Spain.

Travel Spain: When To Visit And How To Travel?

Typically, the most temperate climate can be enjoyed, depending on the region, between April and October, when you can rely on good moderate weather. But if your objective is to take in some of the numerous national and regional cultural festivals happening during the summer, your best bet is to visit between Easter and September.

But remember, to travel Spain in the summer means you are visiting during the high season, both the coastal and interior regions of Spain; in mid-summer, the inland cities empty out and everyone migrates to the coasts, and the Iberian Peninsula is packed with tourists outnumbering residents. If you are destined to travel Spain in the middle of summer, plan before ahead, and prepare yourself for a pleasant busy (but exciting) vacation; an additional advantage of not travelling in this peak period is naturally the rates charged by travel, accommodation and entertainment services.

Travel Spain By Train And Metro

Spain is well-serviced by international and regional airports with excellent connections to Europe and the rest of the world; a popular way to travel Spain, perhaps as a component of a European trip, is to use the excellent rail systems. Bus travel is well-developed in Spain, and may be quicker than trains of you are planning to cover a variety of destinations in any area; many train stations are located some distance outside of major cities and towns. But if your plans to travel Spain require you to be as flexible as possible, renting a car is possibly the best option.

Spanish trains are the most inexpensive in Europe, and provide excellent connection to all cities in Spain through an integrated network of national, regional and inter-city rail options, necessitated by the historical development of regional train services based on incompatible narrow and wide-gauge formats.

But the range of available rail options (for example, high-speed, sleeper car, dining/hospitality, commuter) provides you the flexibility to travel Spain while leveraging your rail component to also serve as accommodation and mobile restaurant – a  savings in time and money which provides the means to extend your enjoyment of Spain’s cultural diversity a little longer.

In major Spanish cities such as Barcelona and Madrid, or to travel Granada Spain, subway systems are a convenient way to see most of the sites of the city, especially if the weather is not cooperating or you have a long distance to cover.

Travel Spain Outside The Metropolitan Areas

Why travel Spain outside of the big cities? In two words – beaches, and countryside.

Excellent beaches are found along most of Spain’s coast, near Malaga, Huelva and Almería in the south as well as near the coasts of La Manga, Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria and Euskadi. If, however, your objective is wild and crazy packed beaches and resorts, there are plenty of crowded beaches on the Costa de la Luz and the Costa del Sol.

However, if fresh air is your objective, the Spanish countryside is filled with incredible geography unparalleled vistas and phenomenal photographic opportunities. In addition, there are areas which offer trekking, mountain-climbing, wildlife parks, cave exploration, horse riding, and even deserts. To travel Spain is indeed experience a lifetime of activities and fun in the space of a vacation.

Albena is one of the smaller size resorts on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria. It is not as well known to international tourists as the two large beach destinations in Bulgaria – Sunny Beach and Golden Sands, but it is the preferred destination for many Bulgarians. Albena (?????? in Bulgarian) is situated 12km south of the town of Balchik, 14km north of the Golden Sands resort and only 30km from the city of Varna. Varna has an active international airport that is accessible year round from most major European cities.

Located at the foot of hills planted with trees and shrubs, Albena is spread along a small bay. Albena features a 6km long and 150 meters wide beach, well protected from high winds. Unlike many of the other beach resorts in Bulgaria, Albena did not experience a construction boom in the last few years. It features medium sized hotels, mostly built during communist times, but thoroughly renovated. Albena has kept a lot of its original design that envisioned large open spaces between its hotels, with trees and gardens. It has a wide beach that is seldom crowded. In fact, the entire resort is significantly quieter and calmer than the buzzing Sunny Beach and Golden Sands. Close to Albena, and officially part of the resort, is the national nature preserve Baltata. Together they are a unique combination of preserved nature and a modern sea tourist complex offering plenty of opportunity for relaxation and ecotourism.

The picturesque town of Balchik, with its botanical garden is located only 12km from Albena. The botanical garden hosts the architectural park complex “The Castle” – the residence of the Romanian queen Maria in the beginning of 20th century. The resort offers excellent conditions for medical treatment, sports, congresses and education. It offers a medical spa, a congress facility, a theatre, and a sports center.

Albena and its vicinity offer a wide range of accommodation options including hotels, guest houses, apartments and villas. A number of new hotels and guest houses were built around Albena in the last few years making it possible for visitors to Albena and the region to enjoy their holiday. A number of privately owned villas and apartments also became available for rent directly from the owners.

The search for rental apartments can prove to be a very tiring and tedious job.To help you make the task a much easier one, you should follow these tips the next time you wish to rent an apartment for yourself.

The first thing you have to do is to look for available apartments for rent. The best places to look for suggestions are the internet, your friends and family and the newspaper.Look for rental apartments in the area you find most convenient for staying in.

The convenient apartment is one that has your kids’ school or office located near the apartment. In addition to this, you should have a general store, a doctors and a pharmacy near the apartment. With all these facilities near you, you don’t have to travel far for medication, have a doctor you can visit if you fall sick or have a store with everyday supplies.

As rental rates tend to fluctuate frequently, keep this in mind when you look for your apartment. So don’t delay in arranging for visits to the apartments.Make it a point to schedule visits to as many apartments as possible in a day.

You have to make sure that the apartments you visit has all the features you may be looking for like the number of bathrooms, bedrooms, the right sized kitchen and other features. This is because the owner’s taste and your taste may not be the same as different people tend to have different living styles and standards.

When you visit the apartment, make sure you make a thorough examination of it so that you can point out any problems you find, report it and avoid any blame falling on you. On finding the right apartment, you have to make sure you discuss rental rates so that you reach something amicable. The rental agreement that you fix up after reaching the right rent should be written so that you clearly understand it.Anything you don’t understand, clarify before signing on the dotted line.

Make sure you read the contract thoroughly before you sign the agreement for the apartment that you have chosen to live in.Make sure you are aware of all the additional fees and clauses many landlords tend to add to their contracts before you sign on the dotted line.

There are some landlords who ask for the previous month’s rent in advance. This is a form of security for the landlord, just in case you break your lease without consulting the landlord.By adding this clause in the agreement, the landlord has a minimum of 30 days to spare before finding the  next tenant and their rental payments.

You can omit this clause from the contract if you have no intentions of breaking the lease without informing the landlord, and are punctual in your payments. This charge is, however, not refundable, unlike the refundable security deposit that the landlord collects from you.

If you have a pet, you may have to pay a pet deposit. This amount is collected by the landlord as a form of insurance against the damages that the pet may cause in the apartment when you stay in it.There are also some landlords who collect pet fees every month to cover all the costs and inconvenience that is caused by the pet.

Renters insurance is something you should get when renting an apartment. This is because you never know when you will have damage due to theft and other accidents. However, with this insurance, you are covered with protection against theft and even fire and water damage.

Car owners will also have to pay for a confirmed parking spot of their cars. This is better than parking your car in the street everyday. As there are so many additional fees and costs you may have to pay when you rent an apartment, you have to ensure you will be able to afford them before you sign on any agreement.

The Board Short Revolution

Even if you are not a surfer yourself you can’t fail to have noticed that surfer fashion has become the standard in modern beach wear. The hight street clothing stores are full of flip flops, sandals, board shorts and hoodies, all developed from beach bum fashions.

Board shorts have become all the rage since they first hit the west coast of America in the 60’s. If you remember before then the beach apparel for men and women was not very appealing with limited options including speedos and swimming costumes that came down to you’re your thighs. Board shorts took the world by storm for many reasons, firstly because they were practical beach wear and secondly because they were really funky and cool looking even to the point where even if you weren’t going to the beach you would wear them around town.

Board shorts were designed by two surfers who knew exactly what they wanted when it came to practical surf wear. They designed board shorts to be practical, hard wearing and stylish, everything that currently available shorts weren’t. For example, board shorts were designed to be light, even when wet, and they were made to be fast drying. The shorts were designed to be comfortable, to be easy to move around in and not to chafe or rub when used in the water. Ultimately they came up with the perfect pair of shorts.

Board shorts soon caught on. Board shorts were soon becoming popular with everyone from film stars to fat, lazy couch potatos who had never seen a surf board in their lives. And this doesn’t stop at men either, Quicksilver picked up on the massive market of the female surfer and developed their own brand of board shorts designed especially for women, you may have heard of it, Roxy. Another immensely popular brand is Animal Clothing with some outstanding board short prints.

Beach and surf wear is now a multi-million pound industry and board shorts are sold all over the world for boys, girls men and women. It’s interesting to think that very few of the people who wear board shorts will ever actually stand on a surfboard.

Whats with the modern day celebrity and the Caribbean?

Tags: , , ,

Why do they go on these holidays, do they all have one reason to do so? The Caribbean is warm and sunny; you have all the beaches and many other attractions, but are these reasons why….

Do they go on Caribbean holidays just to get away from it all? It’s understandable that they would like to just get away and sit by the beach and let everything go. All of them do need to chill out sometimes, its not an easy life. Do they just want that bit of privacy where the papers and photographers will just leave them alone so they can enjoy their luxury holidays?

They might do, but they possibly don’t. What if they know exactly what they are doing, they go to these “private” places to get some more exposure. Surely they know that they will get spotted at some point, maybe they choose to forget about it and let it happen. If you go to the Caribbean you don’t really go there to relax, it is a more of fun atmosphere especially when you go to Babados or the Bahamas. They could also be going over there to get away with things that wouldn’t normally be able to do back at home, let’s put it this way, their not all angels.

Now there is one other reason that they go over to the Caribbean, probably not as much as the others but it has happened. They go over there to find love… Paris Hilton has just found “love” maybe it will work for everybody. So what’s next for the celebrity after all they already have weddings abroad, maybe we should join them. If we started swarming these places would they stop going? It does appear as though they go over there for a holiday, but they do manage to get into the papers quite a lot and from a lot of angles.
